Who are we?
After 10 years of research at LORIA (Lorraine Research Laboratory in Computer Science and its Applications), a joint research unit of the CNRS, the University of Lorraine and Inria, we now put our expertise to work characterizing and protecting IT systems from the most hidden threats.
Our specialty?
Today, we are the only ones able to apply the morphological analysis method, to which we hold the exclusive licence. It characterizes a threat by the structure of its code — not by its signature, its hash or its behavior at runtime, the way market antivirus do. This allows us to easily recognize a new virus or its variant and map it as control flow graphs. This innovation, combined with formal methods tools, delivers unmatched precision on executable files and requires no training phase.
The technology was proven from our first proofs of concept, carried out with the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA).
Why a Gorilla?
Although we’re all King Kong fans, our solutions were named GORILLE by the DGA (French Defense Procurement Agency) during our early proof-of-concept work.
We ultimately embraced this name, as it perfectly captures what we do: a powerful tool against threats, steadfast, and above all, protective.

GORILLE is the product of ten years of French public research, carried out at LORIA — a joint research unit of the CNRS, the University of Lorraine and Inria. Cyber-Detect, founded in 2017, holds the exclusive licence to the morphological analysis method and develops the engine in France.
Sovereignty is not only a matter of where the technology comes from, but of what happens at analysis time: that is when your files travel, or do not. In SaaS, they are analysed on a platform hosted in France. On-premises, they simply never leave your infrastructure.
